I think the biggest thing that the Americans got right is the name thing. [Lotus has used honorifics extremely sparingly, one of the few examples being these almost sardonic references to Naoi-kun and Kishibe-kun and Nijimura-kun.] I hope I've never offended "Kyrie" that way.
