If we don't do this, and somebody does vote for Frank, then someone who isn't Frank will die, which is less good than someone dying who is Frank.

For the time being I'm assuming that either Ene's sacrifice works out or something else happens. It seems pretty likely given how many random deaths there have been between votes.

So it's a math problem.

On the one hand: Someone who isn't Frank dies times the chance that someone, who would have feared the petition, votes for Frank.

On the other hand: People think bad things about the presence of people who wrote the petition, times the chance that they act on those bad thoughts and maybe some of us even die.

This other hand is also where "what Jumpei says about a spite vote" would go. And, yeah, Jumpei, you have a point, that would be really bad.

...I don't know. How likely is a spite vote? Someone would need to have a spare they aren't trading.

Half the people with spares are in this room, so that's good. Also Niles has declared to the contrary, right? And then if you think Zelda and Link are coordinating nicely... though I wouldn't put it past them to value life either if that makes sense. Well have to see what they say.

I mean, then again, a spite vote strikes me as something that would come from someone with one vote who just wasn't thinking clearly.

What if-- Why not just talk to people, float the idea in conversation first? Then it doesn't have to seem so much like some evil organization or the mob or something.

Because people are touchy and when they have a face in front of them, they'll get even angrier than how they'd react to this.

So it's okay that they get angry at me when it's out of my hands, but not at you, to your face, when you can do damage control.
